winterglam preview

Hi lovelies,

I recently made a ‘Winter Glam’ makeup tutorial video that I am linking below.

I received a lot of enquiries about the outfit I wore, my lashes, the lip colour etc Thus I thought I would write a quick blog post detailing these, so you can shop away and recreate your own winter glam looks.

Start off with the eye base. I used some sellotape to guide the shape of the eye makeup. Use some brown eye shadow on a fluffy brush and buff it into the crease of the eye. I kept this brown to be strong because I want it to contrast against the pumpkin colour I will be using.

The pumpkin colour gets buffed on top of the brown in the crease. I then the used lighter brown from the Charlotte Tilbury Palette – this gets packed onto the eyelid but the corner is left for the darker shade of the brown from the palette.

Then I used some black eye shadow on top of this and blend it all in.

Using the shimmery colour from the palette, I used my fingertip to place this colour on the middle section on the lid.

Then I used the final colour from the palette – the highlighter below my brow. I removed the sellotape, then it was the time for me to have brows. I used the Ardere Brow Fibre – it is really easy to use, it applies colour and has fibres to build the eyebrow.

I cleaned up below the eye with some eye makeup remover. Then it was time for eyeliner. I am going for a more dramatic look with my lashes, so I am pulling the eye line out and making it dramatic.

A good tip I’ve found, is applying the concealer at this stage before lining the lower lash line. I took the darker brown shade on there; this needs to be built up really well. I then used the Tarte brown liner in the waterline and smudged this using a thin brush. Finally I used the highlighter in the inner corner.

I curled and cleaned off any excess eye shadow off my lashes before applying my falsies. Today I am wearing Lashionery’s ‘Flutter’ lashes. These are densely packed with lots of fine, synthetic fibres; this means they are really light and comfortable to wear, whilst still giving dramatic emphasis at the lash line. They are wide to elongate the lash line from corner to corner.

I go over the band with a black eyeliner which helps to really define the root of the lashes. For the base, I used my Kat Von D Lock-it Tattoo Foundation with Ardere Cosmetics Makeup Sponge. I used the Kevyn Aucoin concealer under my eyes and then blended it out with the makeup sponge. For contouring, I used my beloved Ardere Sculpt stick.

I am using my Ardere setting powder to set the concealer under my eyes. This powder has not been released yet, but we are very excited about getting this product ready.

I then used the blusher sparingly because it is so well pigmented, then topped this off with a bronzer. Finally for the lips I used theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipsticks.

Ta da! Hope you enjoy creating your own Winter Glam look.
