Eyebrows always mattered to me; mainly because I think I was aware from a young age how light and sparse mine were. I liked filling them in and saw the difference they made to my face and overlook look. The advice from the makeup artist, Victoria Duke made sense to me: “Really thin eyebrows can make you look older…a strong arch makes you look more youthful…shape and colour matter.”

I like that some celebrities struggled to find their eyebrow path…

Here are some good tips I found in my research:

Don’t moisturise your eyebrows!

We need to avoid getting any sunscreens, foundations, or moisturisers on or around the brow area. These, apparently seep into the brows and cause hairs to fall out! Worse still it even prevents hair growth. Another important point to note is that – we tend to treat the brows as skin instead of hair follicles, we don’t moisturise our scalp with our face creams – this is damaging our eyebrows.

Make Sure Your Brow Starts in the Right Spot

From the expert, Sania: “There is a common misconception that brows must align with your nostril, but they should actually align with the top bridge of the nose…Separating brows too far apart makes facial features appear wider.”

Follow this guide to get it right every time.

Be careful of the ‘Too Much Brow’

You also do not want to overfill your arches. “Everyone wants fuller, bolder brows — but some people seem to be overdoing it with the pencil,” Sania warned.

I searched high and low for a good eyebrow pencil, shadow or gel, and was never quite happy with the products that I tried – some even made my eyebrows shed because of the harsh chemicals! This is why we created the Ardere Brow Fibre – this product is paraben, phenoxyethanol and D5 free – basically, without a whole lot of nasties.

We have a lighter option, for all you light-haired lovelies.

This creamy, innovative, all-in-one brow product does 3 things: grooms, defines, fills and corrects the brows. The fibres also thicken and volumise to perfect in every way. A quick sweep of the brush and in a few seconds the colour sets and wears for hours on end.

You can see for yourself how easy the brow fibre is to use and the beautiful impact it has.

Sania suggests going no more than a shade darker than your brows. This will enhance your brows and bring out your eyes without exaggerating them. Brows are meant to enhance — not to distract.
